How to use a custom domain for Quickpage

If you want your public Quickpages to use your custom domain rather than ours, here's how to get set up!

Your page, your domain

By default, any Quickpage you create will be hosted on the quickpageapp.com domain, which can be customized by clicking on your profile name at the top and selecting the Domains option.

Here you can add a custom Quickpage subdomain qp.watch or if you own your domain, you have the option of using that for your Quickpages instead. If you already have a Quickpage subdomain and add a custom domain, the subdomain will be redirected to the custom domain.

NOTE: The custom domains are only available for your visitors. If you want to check you can open your Quickpage link in a different browser or incognito.

Things to note

  • Setting up a custom domain won't break any previous links.

  • If you already have a subdomain added to your account, the subdomain can't be changed after you add the custom domain.

  • Quickpage does not support A record configuration using an IP but you can redirect your root domain (domain.com) to your app subdomain (www.domain.com) and the result will be pretty much the same.

  • You can remove the custom domain at any time from your account.

Let's get started!

Here's the process of connecting your Quickpages to your custom domain.

1. Add your domain with Quickpage

Click on your profile name or image at the top, then go to Domains.

Click on Add domain

This option will show up:

The example.com field is where you’ll input your custom domain or subdomain.

NOTE: Quickpage does not support A record configuration using an IP but you can redirect your root domain (doamin.com) to your app subdomain (www.domain.com) and the result will be pretty much the same.

Click on Next option and this modal will pop up.

Click on Add domain.

NOTE: If the domain is already added to a different account you will get an error message.

2. Add the DNS records provided to your hosting provider.

Once your domain has been added, you'll be provided one CNAME value.

NOTE: As long as you see these options your domain is unverified and will not work.

This value needs to be added to the DNS record of your domain. This has to be configured outside of Quickpage, and the process will vary based on which hosting provider you use. Here are some links to instructions for some major providers.

NOTE: If your host isn’t listed here. Search for “Add DNS records for [your domain provider] in your preferred search engine. Or contact us or your hosting provider directly.

3. Verify DNS propagations

Once your CNAME record has been added , it may take some time for the details to propagate. This can take up to 24 hours in some cases.

To check the status of your CNAME record, click on Check DNS configuration. Once your CNAME record is verified you will see the domain as active.

SSL certificates

Once your custom domain is correctly verified, we’ll issue an SSL certificate for it!

NOTE: You don’t need to purchase any SSL certificate from another provider.

Remove custom domain

You can remove your custom domain at any time. You can click on the Remove option from the Domains page.

Once you click on the Remove option, this confirmation modal will pop up.

Click on the Remove domain option to confirm.

NOTE: This action can't be reversed. Visitors will not be able to access your Quickpages using the domain URL.
